R.A. Buster

R.A. Buster is a writer embarking on writing her first novel. She lives in Central Texas, with her two brothers, her sister-in-law, two teenagers (niece and nephew), one dog, four cats, and numerous fish.

 

She is disabled medically after working in retail for over nineteen years. She has loved to read since she was the age of four. The first book she remembers reading is Winnie the Pooh by A. A. Milne. She discovered many worlds through reading which helped her during a rough childhood. When life got nasty, she would go hide with a book, and effectively disappear.

 

She began writing at the age of thirteen when she figured out that she had a gift for storytelling. She began writing her first novel when she was a junior in high school. She realized she had a real gift when she let a friend read a couple chapters, and soon her hour spent in study hall became reading hour for all of her friends, as they begged her to write the next chapter. She never got to finish that novel, but it became her lifelong dream to be an author.

 

When she left high school, she began working and didn’t get much time to write. Soon she was a wife, trying to make a living with a disabled husband. Her writing was put on the back shelf as she often worked two jobs to keep a roof over her and her husband’s head. Her dream was still there, but the flame just burned low. She divorced after ten years of marriage. Her life was turned upside down so she made the move from her home state of Illinois, all the way to the Puget Sound.

 

She spent almost nine years living in and around Tacoma, Washington working for the Army Exchange Program. It was while working there she began writing again. She wrote several short stories but still longed to write a novel. In 2012, she made the move to Central Texas, to dry out her webbed feet that she felt she had grown while living in a place where it rained all the time.

 

Once she settled in Texas she decided the time had come. It was time to sit down, and get serious about her writing. She is currently working on her pet project "Tales of The Cat's Eye Gang" based on her pets.
